Name: Melanie

School: Quorn Area School

I had help from some special people. Their names are: Gayle Bury, Ian Stuart were the two teachers that I would have received the most help from. There were also family members and friends that helped.

The hardest time for me was when: I started year 12 to the end mainly because this was the year that would decide my future.

The best time for me was: When I finally finish year 12 and then the waiting for my results. Finding out my results was scary but the best time.

I have been able to find work and I am employed in:

I am enrolled at: University

I want to study/am studying: Marketing and International Studies

I know that I am a role model for other Aboriginal students in my family and in my community and I am encouraging other students by: Telling them how I dealt with year 12 stress. And what sort of outcome you can gain after you complete year 12

Any other comments: For family and me completing year 12 was the greatest achievement. Even though my older brother and sister have already completed year 12, they gave me to confidence that I needed to completed the year. Now I’ll be able to go to university and complete a degree, something that wasn’t an option for my parents.
